About the Band

Capital City Pipe Band is a newly formed youth pipe band based in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, operating through the Victoria Scottish Community Centre. The band is aimed at young pipers, drummers and Highland dancers, generally aged 8 to 18, and is designed to give beginners and developing players a structured route into Scottish music and performance.

Practices are held at the Victoria Scottish Community Centre on Admirals Road, with tuition and support available for pipers, drummers and dancers. The band’s setup includes named contacts for piping, drumming, Highland dancing and band management, showing it is being built as a full youth-development programme rather than just a casual parade group.

Its focus is on nurturing young talent, building confidence, and creating a new generation of performers in the Victoria Scottish community. As a newer band, it does not yet have the long competition history of older Canadian pipe bands, but its purpose is clear.
