About the Band

Greighlan Crossing Pipe Band is a Grade 3A competitive and community pipe band based in Surrey, British Columbia, in Canada’s Lower Mainland. The band was established in 2004 by founders Graham Davidson and Len Leroux, whose partnership is reflected in the band’s two-headed dragon logo. The name is often mispronounced, which led to one of the band’s lighter traditions: a crocheted dragon mascot called “Greg Land.”

The band competes across the Pacific Northwest, including British Columbia, Washington State and wider North American events, and has also travelled internationally. Its own history notes a 2010 trip to China, where the band performed at music festivals and on the Great Wall. More recently, Greighlan Crossing has become a strong Grade 3 force, with achievements including 2024 World Champion Drum Corps, 6th at the 2024 World Championships, 5th at the 2024 European Championships, and BCPA Grand Aggregate wins in 2024 and 2025.

The band wears Weathered Sutherland tartan, originally funded after early members wore their own personal kilts. It remains active in community performances, cultural events, fundraisers and Highland games, while planning another Scotland trip for the 2026 World Pipe Band Championships.
