About the Band

Badenoch & Strathspey Pipe Band is based in the Highland area of Badenoch and Strathspey, covering communities around Strathspey and Inverness-shire. The band is active as a community and competition pipe band, performing at local events, Highland games, parades and public celebrations across the north of Scotland.

The band competes under the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association and has been listed in Grade 4B, with Pipe Major Chris Thomson associated with its recent leadership. It has also appeared at major local events, including Grantown-on-Spey’s Christmas torchlight procession, where it has led the parade through the town.

Today, Badenoch & Strathspey Pipe Band continues to promote piping and drumming in the Highlands through public performance, competition and community involvement, representing one of Scotland’s most traditional piping regions.
