About the Band

Grand Rapids & District Pipe Band is based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA, and was started in 1968. It is described by the band as the oldest pipe band in West Michigan, with a long-running role in promoting Highland bagpipe and pipe band music across the region.

The band performs at community events, parades, festivals, private functions and Highland gatherings, while also supporting learners and novice players. It welcomes all levels and offers instruction in pipe band instruments, helping keep piping and drumming active in the Grand Rapids area.

Today, Grand Rapids & District Pipe Band continues as a community-focused organisation, combining performance, teaching and Scottish musical tradition in West Michigan.
