About the Band
St. Louis Caledonian Pipe Band is based in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, and traces its roots to 1969. It was founded by former Pipe Major Bill Sandbach and developed as a not-for-profit musical and social organisation dedicated to Highland piping, drumming and Gaelic heritage.
The band has performed throughout the St. Louis region at parades, Burns Suppers, Scottish cultural events, civic occasions and community functions. It has also supported local charities as part of its wider community role.
St. Louis Caledonian has been part of the Midwest pipe band scene for many years, with records linking it to competition activity and later developments involving other St. Louis-area bands. Today, it continues to promote Scottish piping and drumming through performance, teaching and community involvement.
