About the Band

Shuswap Pipes ‘N Drums is a community pipe band based in the Shuswap region of British Columbia, Canada, with strong links to Salmon Arm and surrounding communities. The band promotes traditional Scottish piping and drumming through public performance, teaching, competition and community involvement.

The band has long-standing connections with the wider interior British Columbia piping scene, including a close relationship with Revelstoke Highlanders Pipe Band, with both groups supporting each other over many years. Historical references also link Shuswap piping to figures such as Hilma Martens, who served as Pipe Major of Shuswap Pipes ‘N Drums for many years after earlier piping work in British Columbia.

Today, Shuswap Pipes ‘N Drums continues to perform at local events, festivals and community occasions, helping keep Highland music active in the Salmon Arm and Shuswap area.
