About the Band

Clan Pipers Moguntia Pipe Band appears to be a German Grade 5 competition cooperation band involving Moguntia Pipes and Drums, The Clan Pipers Frankfurt & District Pipe Band, and other regional players. Moguntia Pipes and Drums is based around Mainz, while Clan Pipers Frankfurt is Germany’s oldest pipe band, founded in 1974.

The cooperation band has competed at German and European pipe band events, including the Peine International Pipe Band Championships in Grade 5 in 2023 and 2024.

Public history for the combined Clan Pipers Moguntia name is limited, but it reflects the collaborative nature of mainland European pipe banding, where bands often join forces to build full competition-strength groups. Today, Clan Pipers Moguntia represents the continuing growth of Scottish-style piping and drumming in Germany through cooperation, performance and competition.
