About the Band

Red Deer & District Pipe Band is based in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, and was established in 1948. It is a Central Alberta bagpipe and drum band with a long community tradition, performing at local events, parades, commemorations, cultural celebrations and private engagements.

The band supports both piping and drumming, helping keep Highland music active in the Red Deer area through regular performances and local participation. It is part of Alberta’s wider pipe band scene and continues to represent Central Alberta at community and Scottish cultural events.

Today, Red Deer & District Pipe Band remains an established regional band, carrying forward a tradition that has lasted for more than 75 years while promoting piping and drumming in central Alberta.
