Clansman Pipe Band is based in Powell River, British Columbia, Canada. Its roots go back to Powell River’s strong pipe band tradition, beginning with the earlier Powell River Pipe Band, which was supported by the MacMillan Bloedel Paper Company. In 1965, the Highland Laddies Junior Band was formed at Brooks Junior Secondary School, helping create a youth pathway for local pipers and drummers.

The Clansman name developed from that local piping heritage and became part of Powell River’s wider community music scene. The band has continued to perform at public events, parades, ceremonies and community gatherings, while supporting the development of new players.

Today, Clansman Pipe Band continues to represent Powell River through piping, drumming, teaching and community performance, preserving a local tradition that has been active for many decades.
