About the Band
Feadán Òr Pipe Band is based in Rochester, New York, and was founded in 1995. The name Feadán Òr means “golden chanter”, reflecting the band’s focus on Scottish piping, drumming and Highland culture. It was founded by players including Kevin Angus, Peter Cormack and Jim Morse, and has developed into one of the recognised pipe bands in western New York.
The band is a not-for-profit organisation and is registered with the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association. It performs and competes while also offering teaching in bagpipes, snare drum, tenor drum and bass drum, with links to Highland dancing and drum major activity.
Today, Feadán Òr continues to support piping and drumming in the Rochester area through competition, tuition, public performance and community events.
