About the Band

Queen City Pipe Band was founded in 2011 and is based in Denver, Colorado. The band was formed as a competitive pipe band for the Western United States circuit and has developed into one of Colorado’s leading pipe band organisations. It competes at Grade 3 level and describes itself as Colorado’s premier competitive pipe band.

The band promotes Scottish musical heritage through competition, performance and teaching, while keeping an open and welcoming approach for new members. It has also been described as the first Colorado band to achieve Grade 2, marking an important step for piping and drumming in the state.

Today, Queen City Pipe Band continues to represent Denver and Colorado in regional competition and public performance. A modern American competition outfit, then: serious enough for the score sheet, relaxed enough not to need a committee meeting to choose a biscuit.
