Arbroath Pipe Band is a community pipe band from Arbroath in Angus, Scotland. The modern band traces its history to 1972, although piping and pipe bands in Arbroath go much further back, with local archive work documenting a deeper tradition of piping, drumming and civilian pipe bands in the town. The band notes that this archive work was supported by Piping Routes, an Angus-based project researching the area’s pipe band heritage.

Today, Arbroath Pipe Band is a registered Scottish charity, SC031347, and a member of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association. The band describes itself as a community organisation that competes in Grade 4B and Grade 3A, while also playing at local events, national competitions and wider public occasions.

Its importance is really in the local-band engine room: teaching players, giving Arbroath a musical presence, and keeping Angus piping alive beyond the big championship spotlight.
