About the Band
Cabar Feidh Pipes & Drums is a Highland pipe and drum band based in southeastern Michigan, USA. The band describes itself as a non-profit organisation dedicated to preserving and promoting Scottish music, culture and heritage through performance and competition. It appears publicly under both Cabar Feidh Pipe Band and Cabar Feidh Pipes and Drums.
The name Cabar Feidh is Gaelic for “stag’s antlers” or “deer’s horn”, a symbol strongly associated with the Mackenzies and the Seaforth Highlanders. The phrase is also familiar in piping through the famous tune “Cabar Feidh” / “Cabar Feidh Gu Brath”, meaning roughly “the deer’s horn forever”.
Cabar Feidh Pipes & Drums performs at Highland games, parades and community events, while also competing in the North American pipe band scene. Recent social media activity shows the band competing in Grade IV, including a first-place result at the Alma Highland Festival.
