Thiepval Memorial Pipe Band is based in Convoy, County Donegal. The band was formed in 1905 and was originally known as Convoy Pipe Band. In 1919, its name was changed to Thiepval Memorial Pipe Band to commemorate the young men who died in the Thiepval area during the Battle of the Somme in 1916.

The band has a long competition history, with records of competing dating back to 1938. Over the years it has represented the Donegal piping community at parades, concerts, commemorative events and pipe band championships in Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland.

In more recent years, Thiepval Memorial has competed in the lower grades, including Grade 4A, and has appeared at major contests such as the World Pipe Band Championships. The band continues to combine competition, public performance and remembrance, keeping alive both its musical tradition and its historic connection to the Somme.
