Scottish Society of New Zealand Pipe Band is based in Christchurch and is linked to the wider Scottish Society of New Zealand. The band’s roots go back to the Christchurch Scottish Society Pipe Band, which was active from 1924 and became an important part of the city’s Scottish cultural life.

Over the decades, the band has performed at community events, parades, Highland gatherings and commemorative occasions, including ANZAC Day services. Historic references also show the band competing at provincial and national pipe band contests, including the 1954 Dominion Contest and events in the 1970s.
