About the Band
Ottawa Caledonian Pipes & Drums is a community-based pipe band from Ottawa, Ontario, serving Canada’s National Capital Region. The band operates as a not-for-profit organisation and promotes Celtic traditions and Scottish Highland culture through piping, drumming, teaching and public performance.
The band describes itself as a friendly, family-oriented group open to anyone interested in learning or playing bagpipes or drums. It performs at parades, community events, cultural celebrations and Scottish gatherings, while also maintaining a competition presence.
Ottawa Caledonian is part of the wider Ottawa pipe band scene and is listed by the Pipers and Pipe Band Society of Ontario’s Ottawa Branch among active bands in the region.
Today, Ottawa Caledonian Pipes & Drums continues to support new and experienced players, helping keep Highland music active in and around Ottawa through tuition, competition and community performance.
