About the Band

Ottawa Highlanders Pipes & Drums is a competitive pipe band based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The band was founded in the summer of 2017 as a Grade 3 competition band, under Pipe Major Christopher Reasbeck. It was created to give experienced pipers and drummers in the National Capital Region a focused competitive outlet.

The band quickly became part of the Ontario pipe band circuit and has competed at major events under the Pipers and Pipe Band Society of Ontario. In 2022, Andrea Boyd was appointed Pipe Major of the band’s Grade 3 group, continuing its development and competitive direction.

Ottawa Highlanders has since been listed among North America’s higher-grade pipe bands, including Grade 2 listings, reflecting its progress since formation. Today, it represents Ottawa through competition, performance and player development within the Canadian pipe band scene.
