About the Band

Pasadena Scottish Pipes & Drums, commonly known as the Pasadena Scots, is based in Pasadena, California, USA. The band was formed in 2006 and is dedicated to the study, performance and teaching of Scottish bagpipe and drum music. It wears the California State tartan.

The organisation developed quickly within the Western United States Pipe Band Association, fielding both Grade 3 and Grade 5 bands. A major achievement came in 2018, when Pasadena Scottish Pipes & Drums won the Grade 3B World Pipe Band Championship in Glasgow.

The band also achieved strong regional success, including Grade 3 and Grade 5 WUSPBA championship titles in 2019. Today, Pasadena Scots continues to promote piping and drumming in Southern California through competition, public performance, lessons and player development.
