About the Band

Fraserburgh Royal British Legion Pipe Band is a north-east Scotland pipe band based in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire. Public listings place the band at 2 St Andrew’s Drive, Fraserburgh, with the band operating under the Fraserburgh R.B.L. Pipe Band name.

The band is closely tied to the local Royal British Legion Scotland community and has built a strong reputation as a town band, supporting local events while also competing on the RSPBA circuit. Recent public material shows the band led by Pipe Major Andrew Buchan, wearing Flower of Scotland tartan, and competing successfully in Grade 4A. In 2024, Fraserburgh RBL won 1st place in Grade 4A at the British Pipe Band Championships in Forres.

The band has also shown strength in smaller-format competition. In 2016, local press reported that Fraserburgh Royal British Legion Pipe Band collected 15 prizes at the 40th annual Miniband competition, earning praise as a source of pride for the town.
