About the Band

Moneygore Pipe Band is a Northern Ireland pipe band associated with the Moneygore area, near Rathfriland in County Down. Publicly available formal history is limited, but RSPBANI material from 2026 notes the band celebrating its 80th anniversary, which places its foundation around 1946.

The band remains active in the Northern Ireland competition scene and is listed in recent contest material in Grade 4A. It has appeared at major local events including the All-Ireland Championships and the Ulster Pipe Band Championships, continuing the strong County Down tradition of community-based piping and drumming.

Today, Moneygore Pipe Band continues to mark its long history through competition, concerts and community performance.
